Database on Soil to Plant Transfer Factors in Arid Environments
This database presents data of published studies on the uptake of radionuclides by edible plants in arid areas. It covers both anthropogenic radionuclides such as Cs-137, Sr-90, Pu-240, and Am-241, as well as naturally occurring radionuclides such as K-40, Ra-226, Th-232, U-232, and others, along with certain elements and metals.
Only studies that comply with selected quality criteria were included in the database. Altogether, soil-to-plant transfer parameters from only 16 countries could be added to the databank: Morocco, Libya, Egypt, Israel, Jordan, Syria, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Kazakhstan, South Africa, the USA, Tunisia, Algeria, Sudan, and Turkey. The data are presented exactly as published, without any editing, recalculations, or modifications.
This database format allows users to select data that correspond to their local conditions and to calculate middle values as needed.
